Information from the human eye is actually sent to the brain and processed there. The eye itself is just an information collection system. The human brain is not an infallible device, there are some things that it processes incorrectly and some things that it does not process well. For example, your brain will try to interpret in 3 dimensions, that's how we are built to percieve the world. Two dimensional optical illusions take advantage of this, using repeating paterns and two dimensional drawings that can be percieved from more than one angle. In order to understand this, just draw a translucent cube on a piece of paper. Either square can be the front of the cube, if you concentrate, you should be able to switch which one is the front and the back. You won't be able to look at that drawing and see the lines for what they really are, your brain will make you see it in 3D. If you repeat this kind of illusion many times on a piece of paper, you can trick the eye to see complex 3D images. Illusions that require the "3D glasses" take advantage of the same mechanism, but do so in a different way. I'm unsure of the specifics on that particular type of optical illusion.
There are many illusions and tricks associated with mind puzzles. Most importantly, mind puzzles utilize a technique that uses one's own senses to trick oneself.
Yes, optical illusions can trick the mind in various ways. They can create false perceptions of size, shape, motion, or color by exploiting the brain's visual processing system and perception mechanisms. These illusions demonstrate the brain's complex process of interpreting and making sense of visual information.
The human mind can be tricked by illusions because it relies on a combination of sensory input, past experiences, and expectations to interpret the world around us. Illusions often exploit these processes by presenting conflicting or distorted information that our brain attempts to make sense of, leading to misperceptions.

Some common optical illusion questions that people often ask include: "How does an optical illusion trick our brain?" "Why do some people see optical illusions differently?" "Can optical illusions be used to study the brain?"
Optical illusions are images that trick our brains into seeing something that isn't there. They work by exploiting the way our eyes and brain process visual information, often creating conflicting signals that confuse our perception.
