Why do men think that looks are everything?

Believe me, not all men are like this. Smart men see further than a pretty face. I know so many great looking guys and their girlfriends or wives are cute or plain looking girls. These are the smart guys that let go of their feelings and fall in love with the WHOLE GIRL and not just her looks. More men have had sad love affairs by picking beautiful women. Not all beautiful women are losers and many have great personalities and if you asked them they wouldn't think they were pretty at all. I was fortunate enough when I was younger to be attractive and had no problem with men, but my father gave me a great piece of advice .... don't count on your beauty, but build your inner self (soul) because looks fade! He was right! Keep going, be strong, because there is a guy out there that will fall in love with who you are, and not what you may look like. I might add I think you are being too hard on yourself. A poll was taken and men were asked what they were looking for in women. I was rather shocked at the outcome of it all. These men of course wanted to be physically attracted to the girl (but remember, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder) and they wanted a girl who had a good sense of humor, wasn't afraid to sit down and eat a good meal and disliked girls that sat and picked away at "bunny food." They also didn't like girls that wore too much make-up and although they would take a good hard look at a girl in a skimpy outfit they didn't want THEIR girl looking like that. All men said they wanted a girl with a good personality. To make yourself feel better and give yourself more confidence, get a new hairstyle, if you have a few extra pounds you want to get rid of (don't we all) then get out and jog, run, swim, join a gym and you'll feel so much better. Go to a fashionable clothing store (the clothes don't have to be expensive) and buy yourself some great, sexy clothes (nothing too clingy because it looks cheap) and never show off all you have, but keep 'em guessing. Good luck Marcy Sometimes it is just that its all they h ave to work with. Some good men do use the looks technique because its all they have to work with. They can't saay anything like I like you or you seem like a good person to love. They don't know you yet . Dates are used to get to know people, so be open in mind. Don't look for love, let it find you. I'm not sayin he should be allowed to grab your butt and say come with me but if a man says something like nice smile or pretty face, or loving your complexion appreciate it. If a boy does do that then smack him or have some type of defense with you in case of him hurting you.

Because if a girl is hot, he would date her because then he'll get popular and people would say how lucky he is. Or men/boys are too prideful. Some of them think what's on the outside is enough for them because it already pleases them, so they're like 'who cares what's on the inside if its already good on the outside.' some of these guys are still immature and dont realize that beauty is only skin deep but its the personality that counts you will ssee :)
