They eat the feces because the droppings have nutrients that the mouse needs that it didn't get the first time around. It's natural for them to eat the feces, so don't worry. It won't get sick and, like i said, it's good for them, so just let him at it.

Cannibalism is not common in mice, unless there is a stressor involved. If your mice are eating each other, check food and water levels. Mice should never run out of either; otherwise they may resort to eating each other. Overcrowding may also encourage cannibalism, or too many males (they may kill each other during a fight).

This is common among most herbivores. Their intestines are too short to get proper nutrition from eating vegetative matter the first time, so they eat it again.
