mostly people hate us because of the stereotypical 'gypsy' name. if you arks most people what a gypsy is they will say something along the line of 'thief tramp, traveling pickpocket.' things like that. however you'll not be surprised to find that most have not done any research on are culture or way of life, and have most likely only had one or two encounters in which we may have been ether withdrawn of hot tempered (hostile, aggravated etc.) this is usually caused by someone giving an unwelcome look, or a racist remark
the hatred for us has come from centuries of racism and injustice.
when gypsies first began to appear in Europe most people found us to be ether entertaining or similar, they where generally amused by are makeshift items and such. (ie; pegs) however after a while people began to fear us (as they do with everything unknown or different.) it is believed that people with businesses feared that are knack with trade may overthrow them. also people disliked Gypsies then as it was extremely difficult to tax a gypsy as they moved so often.
people dislike us because we are outside the normal order of things.
Gypsies are descendants of Indian peoples, not of Egyptians. Europeans mistook them for Egyptian-descent and thus named them Gypsies.
Because you are ignorant and a bigot.
yes.
In the history of Germany under the Nazis, there was a lot of hate for Gypsies, just as there was hate and intolerance for other groups. But as a whole, no. All Germans do not hate Gypsies. Hopefully we are growing past hatred as a society, and slowly learning to understand each other rather than nourishing old grudges and hatreds.
Most people discriminated against gypsies because they thought of them as thieves and outsiders. Europeans wouldn't even touch one. However, by looking at some gypsies, it is obvious that they are mixed with other European nationalities. So the answer is yes. Some gypsies look light like Europeans while others are darker and more "gypsy" looking. It really depends on the individual.
He didn't kill Romanians, he killed gypsies. It's a huge difference.
The Ottoman hate the Europeans for a few reasons. The main reason on why they hate the Europeans is because of the fighting.
He saw them as imperfect and subhuman.
Frollo harbors a deep-seated prejudice against the gypsies because of his rigid adherence to social hierarchy and his belief that they are immoral and corrupt. This prejudice is fueled by his distorted sense of self-righteousness and desire for power and control.
I think people hate Gypsies because they dont understand them. what people dont understand they seem to hate. The gypsies don't follow the societies rules of 'towing the line' and yet they survive and are happy. That's puzzling to many people. I think that deep down inside many of us would love to live freely like the gypsies but haven't the got the guts to do it - so if you can't be like them then the next best thing (to a small mind) is to hate them. This can of course lead to hate crimes, so I suppose "fear" would be a better word.
Not necessarily. Some Europeans may not be interested in American football because it is not as popular in Europe as it is in the United States. However, there are also many Europeans who enjoy American football and follow the sport.
Assuming you are evaluating "most hated"by the raw numbers of people who hate them, the Gypsies and Jews are high up there. People who actively like Jews are so rare that there is actually a term for people who like them: Judeophile. There is no similar term for Muslims since friendship towards Muslims is much more common. As for Gypsies, I have personally never met a person who a good word to say about Gypsies. Most Europeans accuse them of being lecherous bile who feed off the generous teat of the government. Their refusal to assimilate has led to strong negative emotions as well due to their use of pack animals in modern buildings and their notoriety for being a large number of the cities' mendicants.
