Why do most people want to be accepted by others even if they don't like those people?

people sometimes want to be in a "cool group" or excepted probaly because that person is considered popular and cool and everyone else sucks up to that person and trys to be BFF's with that person. Although my advice to you if you do try to hang out with cool people is to hang out with people who share features you like or someone you can relate to and talk about soccer with or shopping or whatever you like. But also you should remember that nobody is perfect! So accept that everyone on Earth is not perfect, so try to be understanding and accepting with people who have their faults, because evey one even you and me have faults.
