bad fuse , bad electrical connection to or bad switch ( back up light switch on manual transmission / neutral safety switch on automatic transmission also acts as backup light switch )

There is no OBDII connector on 1993 F150. Didn't start until 1996 (97 model).
we have turn signals but no back up brake or warning signals we get power to signal switch on transmission but not beyond that point should this modual be changed keep in mind that this is a 1981 ford f150 and if this modual is changed will that help?
use a test light or a multimeter to check for power at the tail lights, check bulbs.
