What is marketing and what is its primary goal?Marketing Definition:Process by which companies create value for customers and build strong & profitable customer relationships in order to capture value from customers in return and create profit which is the main objective of profit organization, and any other valuable value for non-profit organizations, typically market is divided into main five steps that define marketing process itself.The Marketing Steps:Figure 1-1 shows the five-step marketing process.1. The growing customer orientation gradually resulted in the development of the marketing concept which provides an orientation for conducting business, a way of thinking and a basic approach to business to business problem. A company operating under the market concept takes its main direction from the market place i.e. from the knowledge and understanding of its customer's needs, wants and desires. This becomes the main basis for organizing operations. Thus, the marketing concept has the three main features (1) a market or customer orientation (2) a subordination of departmental aspirations to company widegoals and (3) a unification of company's operation. The most important idea in contemporary marketing thought and practice is the marketing concept. Business organisations achieve their profit and other goals by satisfying consumers.
