People have emotional connections to living creatures, much like they do humans. The fact of life is that everything dies at SOME point, and we must know to remember that. People cry when there dogs are lost because of the feeling of connection and love. Its much like loosing a family member in the sense that you have lost something very close to you, but I don't not believe losing a dog can be labeled in the same category as losing a loved family member (Human)
