STDs are reportable because the government has an interest in reducing the risk of STDs by making sure that patients are partners complete treatment. Usually the lab and the health care provider will report the STD. The reportable STDs are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and chancroid, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, and HIV.
