Animal cells do in fact have a vacuole, just not as prominent as that of plant cells. Plant cells use the vacuole not only for storage, but also because it adds structure and rigidity to the cell.

Plants stay in the same place, and this can put a lot of stress on their cells. Therefore, they have to have something to support themselves. Animals, on the other hand, have to move quickly, and this is nearly impossible with cell walls. Besides, animals don't need cell walls as they do not stay in exactly the same position for very long.

Plant cells need more protection than animal cells. So, plant cells have cell walls in addition to cell membrane but animal cell does not need more protection. So, it lack cell wall.

Because plant cells need to have a strong structure to hold the plant up...with out them the plant would just fall over.... animal cells have a skeleton like structure!!
