It is because most animals daily foods are plants for example a elephants eats twigs ,wild fruits and banana so if they stop growing or finish, the elephants would die .
One more example if you and your best friend are staying together and your best friend go very very far from you like you are in India and your friend is in london so you will make a new best friend but the memories of your first best friend will be with you you will be sad but not die same as well the animals the animals eat many things in jungle and and if there will be nothing to eat in jungle they will die animals will die but not you will only be sad .
