You just need to pull it very hard. If you are planning on reusing it, make sure that you do not pull the wires itself. Hold on the connectors.

Check the spark plug wires and the distributor cap.
Disconnect the spark plug wires, disconnect the PCV-valve, remove four nuts holding the cover. Make sure that wires are not in the way. Remove the cover.

The Toyota Camry used distributors in its engines up to 1996. Just follow the spark plug wires. They will lead right to the distributor.
Make sure that you have set the marks right, check the spark plug wires that they are connected, and connected to the appropriate spark plugs.

If you open the hood and can see only 3 spark plug wires: you have 6 cylinder engine. Otherwise you have 4 cylinder engine (you can see only 4 spark plug wires).
Spark plug wires are made in the way when it's really hard to connect wires in a wrong order, they have certain length and a special holder which prevents mistakes during repair process.
