Why do satanists where crosses and what are all its meanings in witchcraft?

Satanists wear an inverted cross (sometimes) as a denial of the crucifixion, Jesus, and by proxy, God as depicted in the New Testament.

The cross only has one meaning in witchcraft: The equal armed cross is sometimes used to depict the four elements, but this has no connection to the Christian cross.

The sun (or solar) cross (equal armed cross) is commonly used by pagans as a representation of the sun, as well as the aforementioned four elements... Also the four seasons, the four winds, the four directions, the four quarters, and the four archangels.

The equal armed cross appears in the iconography of the Celts, some Native American tribes (usually within a circle), ancient Indian, ancient China, and in pre-Colombian arts.

The hooked cross, also known as the swastika has ancient root around the world and is considered a happy or good symbol.

Only in the twentieth century, when it was reversed and used by the national Socialist German Worker's Party that is became a symbol associated with evil.

There is also a variation of the cross, called an Ankh, which is prevalent in ancient Egyptian art and religion. It looks like a cross with a loop in place of the upper arm.
