Since reproduction includes one male and one female gamete, the resultant formed zygote will be 2x.Since even number i.e one with one or two with two........ gametes fuse with each other, the resultant will be even numbered diploid.

There are some plants that have both a 1N vegetative state and a 2N reproductive state. There are animals that have individuals where one sex has 2 sex chromosomes and the other has only one...there are also plants that are 4, 6 and 8N that have improved food value because of increased endosperm...(corn).

Moving on.

The fusion of 1N gametes from parents to make a 2N offspring has a lot of advantages over asexual reproduction in as much as it increases genetic diversity in a population and allows for traits favored by selection to proliferate more rapidly.

Matched pairs of chromosomes divide evenly and generally result in consistent (1N)numbers of chromosomes in each daughter cell produced during meiosis. Subsequently, when the gametes unite the 2N complement is preserved.

Another good reason for 2N cells is redundancy, where less favorable or favorable recessive characteristics can be masked or preserved in the population.

Sexual reproduction allows for the recombination of genes in new ways. This can create a more diverse population.

However not all organisms reproduce sexually.

Many organisms can reproduce both sexually and asexually. Sexual reproduction does not produce genetically identical, so the chances are good that many will survive.

We can not divide like the cells can.We are simply just to big to divide like that.

Haploid cell comparison to a diploid cell?

A haploid cell is s germ cell that gives rise to gametes or sex cells in organisms that reproduce sexually. They contain the haploid number of chromosomes denoted by the letter n. In humans, n = 23 A diploid cell is a body cell that makes up tissues and organs. They contain diploid number of chromosomes denoted by 2n. In humans, 2n = 46
