Why do so many people try to get their homework questions answered here?

There are two reasons that come to mind: (1) Some students may be looking for easy answers to their homework assignment. (2) Some students may not fully grasp the lessons at school and are seeking solutions or ways to learn how to do their homework.
When I answer what looks like a "homework question" (particularly in math), I go with the #2 reason. I show the steps on how to solve the problem(s). This way, the student not only has the correct answer, but also learns how to solve similar problems.

∙ 12y agoSome because they hope the answer will be here. Some because they do not know the answer. Some because they do not know how to search correctly. Some because they are lazy. Some because they don't want to do their homework and just want someone else to do it for them.

∙ 12y agoI'm guessing it's because they're too stupid and/or lazy to figure it out for themselves. But I'm kind of a cynic. Maybe they just want to share the joy of discovery with the rest of us.

I don't think there are that many; there are three unanswered questions at the moment - two after I've answered this! Many of the questions are, I suspect, homework assignments.

You see, people don't know everything. Maybe your questions will be answered, or not.

No, most of the questions are from people who can't find the answer on a search engine and are looking to increase their knowledge.
Is the answers on this page from live people?
There are some automated answers, but the vast majority are answered by real people like me. Many of us have answered thousands of questions here. You can answer questions too, if you see any you know the answers to. That is how all the people who regularly answerer questions here started.
How many people ask homework questions on here?
We don't keep that kind of records, but a lot of kids do try to find homework answers on this site.

only when people answer questions they don't really know and give a wrong or confusing answer. This site doesn't work because random people put the wrong answers on here and some questions arnt answered, this site doesn't help when doing homework or studdying.
