The answer is in two parts:
(1) Sometimes it is necessary to change the exact wording of questions, especially when the question as asked is incoherent and fraught with errors of spelling and grammar and overly long rant-like phrasing. That is why it is done.
(2) No, it is not wrong of them. It is their duty to do so.
I just came across "Can a lesbian and a transvestite be together if they have the same lifestyle or weird way of life?", or something like that.. WTFF?
There can be many reasons, the questions could be asking something illegal, the question might be incomphrehensibly vague, they could be begging for goods or services, they could be asking for privileged information (celebrity contact details, etc) and so on. The supervisors will 'trash' these, categorising them into catch alls that explain why they were trashed. Copyright is another issue. Posting exam questions, or any question written by another source, verbatim, is a violation of copyright. Those too will be deleted.
You're probably doing it to yourself. Try categorizing your questions, and ensure they are concise and easily understandable.
Only supervisors cam remove flags. Questions or answers can be flagged for a variety of reasons - usually because something needs improving - or the question/answer could be offensive. for this reason - 'ordinary' users don't have the authority to remove flags from questions or answers.
Analytical questions are questions used to help analyze and get a closer look into something. They usually begin with the word "How" or "Why".
Whether the supervisors are obnoxious or not is a matter of personal opinion. And yes, they are doing something important. It is the supervisors who set the tone of the site and deal with difficult users.
Supervisors like to be asked questions for many reasons. Some like to know that their employee's are trying to learn more about their line of work and maybe even help that employee move up in position. Sometimes managers/supervisors like to be kept on their toes when asked something they are not sure of it helps everyone grow. Honestly that is the key role of a supervisor to find ways to make the operation move as smoothly as possible with as little hiccups along the way and your question may be the answer they were looking for. finally a question not asked is a question never answered.
I checked the contributions of this asker, and at least 2 questions were in fact deleted by supervisors. One was the question, "Who can trust you?" The problem there is that it cannot be answered since there is not enough information. Some might see that as an attempt to use questions for chatting. The other question may come across as sort of a polling type question and asks about something for which no statistics are available. I see it as a valid question, since it is asking about the validity of jokes that stereotype a whole group of people. Now, the way it is worded, a super might mistake it as being in support of such jokes. That is not to criticize whatever supervisor involved since others may likely interpret it the same way, and the supervisors have a role of keeping content others may find offensive off of the site.Of course, in general the types of questions that get deleted usually include cyberbullying, questions that cannot be answered, inappropriate subject matter or requests for such, crime instruction, suicide instruction, questions asking where to find porn sites, questions about getting around firewalls, questions asking for software cracks, and nonsense questions that add no value to the site.
This is something we will be working on. It's currently reservedfor Supervisors because merging is a very dangerous power. It effectively removes a question. The question can be recovered, but not as easily as it can be merged. That means a vandal could do a lot of damage with it.
It shouldn't be obscene at all. We supervisors (and the rest of the supervising community) work hard to remove obscene questions to an area unavailable to 'regular' users. If you see something obscene - report it to a supervisor. We're not 'Gods' - so we can't see every contribution. We rely on you users to alert us when something's not right.
Etiological questions are questions that inquire about the origin or cause of something.
The vandal patrol team do their best to stop the tiny minority of idiots who are here just to cause mayhem. However - us supervisors are not Gods - we cannot see every idiotic answer unless we're told there's something wrong. If you see something that you feel should be brought to the attention of a supervisor - report it - it will be dealt with !
