All religions have some form of a creation story. All patriarchal religions believe in the Adam and Eve story (- the story is common to the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths).
However, please note that most Christians do not believe that the story of Genesis and Adam and Eve is a fact - it is just a story.

∙ 9y agoA good biblical reason for not believing in the creation story of Genesis is that there are actually two different creation stories in Genesis, written by two different authors. Although the authors were anonymous, they are now known as the Yahwist and the Priestly Source. The first creation story (Genesis 1:1-2:4a) ends with the creation of man; the second (Genesis 2:4b-20) begins with his creation.
The first creation story is scientifically impossible. For example, the sun, moon and stars were created as lights placed in the firmament of an already existing earth. Plants existed before there was even a sun to keep them alive.
The second creation story is also scientifically impossible. It tells us that man was the first living creature.
Although the first creation story could have occurred at any point in time, the second leads on, through the descendants of Adam, to give the age of creation as only 6000 years. This is clearly incorrect. The world is over four billion years old, and life forms have been present for most of that time.
Christians who do not believe in the creation story are simply being rational.
