What global was coincided with the French and Indian War?

The seven years war?

Some historians consider the French and Indian war as the first global war how can this be so?

Because it was fought where ever colonies existed, as well as within Europe itself. Parts of North America was a colony, and parts of Asia. Depending upon the historians; a global war might be the number of countries involved OR the regions across the globe that are fought upon. If simply counting the numbers of countries involved in the war, then the Korean War (1950-1953) would be a world war...since nearly every European Nation (the UN) as well as North American and parts of Asia sent troops to fight in Korea. Most historians, however, seem to draw the line at the regions fought in...which give it global status or not.

Why do some historians consider the french and India war as the first global war?

Well, they actually have a valid point there. WWI was called the "Great War" until WWII came along; then it got re-titled WWI. WWI was not nearly as global as WWII was. The land war of WWI was fought almost entirely in Europe, but the naval battles occurred in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Apparently, the French and Indian War was fought about the same way, but involved even more land fighting around the world than did WWI. If World War I qualifies as a "World War" based upon scattered fighting thru-out the globe; those very same standards might have to apply to the French and Indian War also. Those arguments aside; the only "true" world war ever fought was WWII. And that war went global when America entered into it on 07 December 1941.

Why do some historians consider the French and Indian War as the first global war?

The primary reason is due to the fact that it was fought by the current world powers of the day on both the European (under the name of the Seven Years War) and North American continents. The results being that Great Britain became the leading power in North America and France turning over to Spain what would soon be called the Louisiana Purchase.
