I believe that the larger the hot water tank, the greater is the need for an expansion tank. Water expands as it is heated. This is why all hydronic heating systems require an expansion tank. A water heater would need expansion tank when a backflow preventer or check valve is installed in domestic cold water line directly after water meter. Some areas require backflow prevention, but not all. Have to check with local Plumbing authority about that.

Where can you buy fish heaters for 1 gallon tanks?

Typically 1 gallon tanks are far too small for even flat submersible heaters as the ambient temperature in the location where you keep it should warm it up (or cool it down!).If you are unable to keep an even temperature, they do make tiny flat heaters for 2.5 to 5 gallon tanks

Are fish tank heaters needed?

Typically heaters are needed for tropical fish tanks. However, if you could guarantee the room temperature where the tank is located will be maintained at the needed temperature for your fish, then you don't need a heater. Most tropical tanks need to be maintained at temperatures of 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the types of fish in the tank.

How do you warm your sea monkeys tank?

There are several ways you can do it, depending on the size of the tank. In larger tanks (1-5 gallons) you can use very small aquarium heaters. In much smaller tanks, you can either put them in a warm room, put them close to a light or heat source, or use a water bath heated by a heater. Mini heaters can be purchased online at www.bigalsonline.com

How do you hook up two water heaters in line?

you want your cold line coming tying into both inlets on the water heaters and the hot lines tied onto the outlet side of the water heaters evenly (so they get even draw and one water heater doesen't have to work harder tnan the other). your recirc line coming in ties into the cold line in beetween the two water heaters with a circ pump going twards the cold line and the other end of the circ line tying into the hot line on the furthest fixture. on the cold line coming in you need a ball valve, check valve and expansion tank before it ties into any of the heaters. NOTE: The solution above is for tanks in parallel not in series.
