Because the earth's spin causes us to be able to see different constellations at different times of year. In winter, we see other constellations because the earth tilts away from the sun, therefore causing us to see constellations over the top of the earth. I am 11 years old.

well remember we are in a galaxy that spins just like earth... so as the earth spins you see different stars and when the galaxy spins you have different stars... basically the sky moves over night...

It's because the first night you may see the stars in one place but the next night the earth has moved on it's axis causing the stars to occur to you as to have moved when really it's Earth that has moved! :) Hope i helped xxx

The Earth isn't standing still; it is moving along in its orbit at about 67,000 miles per hour, along its elliptical orbit. It takes 365.24 days to complete one orbit; that works out to about one degree per day.

We measure the "day" as the time it takes for the Earth to spin one time, but that isn't QUITE correct. The Earth spins in 23 hours 56 minutes, and this is one "sidereal day", the time it takes so that the stars appear in the same place in the sky. During that time, the Earth had gone almost a full degree around in its orbit, which means that it takes an extra four minutes of the Earth spinning until the Sun appears to be back in the same place. This is called one "solar day".

So because of the Earth going around in its orbit, the stars seem to rise four minutes earlier each night, as we measure it by the Sun.

Because the earth keeps turning you, so that your head keeps turning toward the east.

Since the position of your head keeps changing, you have to keep changing the direction
where you look to see any one thing.

Of course you don't feel as if you're turning, so it looks like the things you're looking at
are turning around you.

Because the earth rotates, the stars seem to shift positions in the sky. Just like the sun.

The Earth rotates on its axis and around the sun so technically were moving, not the stars

The effects of "twinkling" is caused by the Earth's atmosphere.
