Why do teenagers think they are alone in this world and end up killing themselves?

Because mankind is too sentient for their own good. We have too much emotion and difference in thought. Jealousy, hatred, revenge, money, religion, status... ALL of these are simple reasons for some people to just go ahead and pull the trigger. Not everyone has the same mindset that killing is bad, and certainly people that do kill are not afraid of the following consequences themselves (otherwise they wouldn't commit such an act in the first place). Why did September 11th happen? Religion. Why was Kennedy assassinated? Someone just plain and simple didn't like him. Why did Richard Kuklinsky kill so many people in his life. Money (and greed). And there are many people who have fantasies about killing...they are mentally predisposed (either from the way they were raised, or possibly genetically) to enjoy killing people. Remember Jared Loughner? The sick bastard who shot Gabrielle Giffords in the head (thankfully she survived) and killed a bunch of others including a NINE YEAR OLD GIRL? Why did he do it? Because he was freaking coo-coo! Look at the guy's freaking mugshot for Pete's sake. Insanity; same reason Cho shot up V-tech and the Columbine shootings. Why did John Wayne Gacy kill little boys and have sex with their dead bodies? Fantasy. People kill each other because without death, life can't continue.

∙ 14y agoTeenagers have so much stress on them. Including dating, sexuality, the awakening of desire. friends, parents, mental or physical illness, school, bullying, the future, religion, and peer-pressure. Adults do know what a teenager has to go through, they have been through it themselves. What they fail to do understand is the intensity of life for current teens nor do they appreciate the many, many times when everything just becomes unbearable. Teens then think that commiting suicide willl be better for them than having to deal with everything else.
AnswerI believe that if parents and other adults would realize how much more different the world is today then maybe they could understand why every little thing sets off our emotions. Parents need to get more involved in whats going on in the real world and their children's life and then they will know what its like but until then they are going to get nowhere. And when neither our parents or friends understand then it makes us more sad. We haven't been through as much as they have at their ages, so we don't know how to deal with the pain and everything. I have been through the whole suicidal stage so I know what it feels like and I know what needs to be done about it. Parents need to take a stand.

Teenagers "waste" their money on body piercings to feel unique to THEMSELVES. That's keyword because while some may care what others think of that new piercing, some don't. They get it to feel personality among themselves and not others. It gives then uniqueness in their self image.
