I would have to ask exactly what you're smelling. If it's exhaust, you have an exhaust leak somewhere where it's able to get into the HVAC ducts - exhaust manifolds are a likely culprit here. You'll need to repair the leak. If it's electrical, your blow motor is probably burning out. You'll have to replace it. If it's a moldy smell, you have mold on the evaporator and/or in the ductwork. Get some anti-mold spray. Run your vehicle with the AC on high (but NOT on Max AC - you need fresh air intake), spray it into the intake ducts underneath the wipers, and run the AC for ten minutes afterwards. For the evaporator, get some of the foaming anti-mold spray, and spray it into the vent by the passenger door. Repeat as needed until the smell goes away. To help prevent it from happening again, make sure you shut your AC off a few minutes before you shut your vehicle down.
The drain comes through the firewall on the passenger side. Easy to spot. Push a stiff wire up and clear out debris. If it is not plugged and you are wondering about the skanky smell from the air ducts then you have to spray a cleaner in the passenger side air duct.
I cured my bad smell in my 2007 Sienna with a $10 can of "friggie Fresh"(sp?) from Auto Zone. There are many brands, The stuff kills bacteria in the AC. With car running and AC on, spray in the vent opening behind the glove box. First, take out the AC cabin filter that is behind the the glove box, then spray into the opening to run it through the system. Maybe replace the cabin air filter at the same time, about $15-$20. If you have rear AC, spray it in the intake(return air) vent that is on the right side when you open the rear door.
There is no smell, unless somebody has used something like 22a freon which is actually propane and may have a sulphur smell
almonds or peach kernels
You have to purchase one of the disinfecting solutions, and spray it into condition from that side where it takes air. Be careful when you pick the spray it should friendly to people.
u smell like ppoopv
Just a thought - - - It MAY not be smoke. You could have a pinhole leak in the heater coil which allows vaporized engine coolant to spray into the car via the A/C vents.
This normally indicates a refrigerant leak. STOP USING YOUR AC IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THIS SMELL!! The fumes from the fluid in your AC system are highly toxic. The leak needs to be sorted out before the AC can be used again.
Depends on the smell. What does it smell like?
You might have mold buildup on the evaporator.
Something of a moldy smell? If so, you have moisture accumulation on your condenser coil. The simplest method is to spray a foaming coil cleaner on it... you would spray it through the AC duct located next to the door on the right side (passenger side in a left hand drive vehicle) of the vehicle.
