Why does the sun appear to be of the same size as the moon in the sky?

Because the sun is a LOT further away. Example: If you hold a golf ball up in front of your eyes, and put a basketball several metres away, they look the same size.

Why does the moon look like the same in the sky?

Because the moon takes the same time to rotate once on its axis - as it does to go around the earth. Therefore we see the same side of the moon every time.

What is the diameter of the Sun and Moon?

the diameter of the sun is about 400 times that of the moon, and it out-masses the moon by about 27 million times, they are both approximately the same apparent size in our sky.

Does the moon appear to be a different size when it has risen full?

The full moon appears larger when it's low in the sky than it does when it's high. That's easily shown to be an optical illusion. For example, when the moon is photographed both high and low in the sky, both images on the film are the same size.

Why the sun and the moon appear to be about that same size in the sky?

The truthful answer to that? It is nothing more than a rather amazing coincidence! Really!

From the earth the moon always looks approxamitley the same size what can you conclude from this about the orbit of the moon around the earth?

Maybe it appears to be of same size to naked eyes, but actually Moon's orbit around Earth is not perfectly round but is oval or elliptical in shape. As the Moon orbits our planet, it's distance varies from about 221,000 to 252,000 miles. This 13% variation in the Moon's distance makes the Moon's apparent size in our sky vary by the same amount

Why do the sun and moon appear the same size in the sky when the sun's diameter is four hundred times greater than the diameter of the moon?

When things are closer to you, they can appear larger than objects which are comparatively bigger, but further away from you. Coincidentally, while the sun is about 400 times larger than the moon, it is also 400 times the distance away, meaning they look roughly the same size from here on earth.

Are moon and sun the same?

No. The sun is the bright yellow thing in the sky. The moon is the big white thing in the sky.

What is the map of the stars as seen from the moon?

There's only one difference between the sky seen from the Earth and the sky seen from the moon. The sky seen from the Earth has a moon in it, and the sky seen from the moon has an Earth in it. Other than that, exactly the same objects in the same patterns are seen from both places.
