The identity of the solvent that is used in recrystallization is very important because only if the correct solvent is used, will the product be purified and recrystallized as desired. The product, benzanilide, is soluble in hot ethanol, but not in cold ethanol. Any impurities that are expected to arise from the reaction are not soluble in hot ethanol and soluble in the cold ethanol, and thus it is the perfect solvent for the recrystallization process, as only benzanilide is soluble in it and when it is cooled only benzanilide will crystallize out, while any impurities will be left behind in the solution.
You can try usind cold ethanol. In seems to work with the other Salen complexes.

Michigan has removed it's law requiring fuel pumps to display whether the gas contains any ethanol. So it cold contain 10 or 15% ethanol. As for Premium, it depends on the station's owner. Some will purchase their fuel ( all gas pumped into all the stations......be it shell, mobil, BP, Citgo etc) comes from only a few distributors. The only difference between them is their additives. That being said, Assume all gas has ethanol UNLESS the STATION itself advertises they're selling ETHANOL FREE. So does VPower contain Ethanol......... PROBABLY. Ask the station owner or operator if it does. That's the only way to be sure
DNA does not dissolve on Alcohols. It is better to store it in cold temp. for it not to denature

It is not cold, the reason u feel ur hand cold when some ethanol reaches it is that it starts vaporizing so it absorbs the heat of ur hand so u feel it cold,

Cold ethanol or isopropanol is used to precipitate the plasmid DNA, DNA is insoluble in alcohol and clumps or clings together. Centrifuging will cause the precipitate to form a pellet which can be decanted from the unwanted supernatant. Where as if compared with RNA isolation isopropanol is less efficient in precipitating RNA, where in presence of Lithium chloride or ammonium ions can give a good yield
