Because for us as people it comes naturally.. Especially for girls, I admit it, We can sometimes do it to make ourselves feel better about our personality, looks etc....

I am a 17 year old and I do believe that fashion does change the way we see ourselves in terms of wanting to be like others and not valueing ourselves. It probably makes it more unique at this point in time because people we in need of a story like it. There are stories like Twilight throughout time it's just that Twilight is more modern and more accostomed to our way of life,maing it more relatable to ourselves.
