I don't know if "appear" is the correct word. My wife would never tell me she was having her period and it was always the time that I would crawl all over her and want some. She said one day "Why do you always want it when you cant have it?" and I realized there must be some type of hormone or pharomone thing going on. Men can sense or unknowingly smell something. It's very interesting though.
