Women can get yeast infections from an imbalance within their bodies. Symptoms of yeast infections include soreness, itching, thick and clumpy discharge that looks like cottage cheese and a burning when urinating.

You don't have to be sexually active to get a yeast infection. That's not even the most common way to get one. It happens to just about all females sometime. Other causes: a change in diet, tight fitting non-cotton panties, pantyhose, hormones, or anything that changes the pH balance in your vagina. Don't let it worry you. Just see a doctor to get rid of it.

A woman may get yeast infection due to many reasons. One is taking antibiotics which kills bacteria, including the good bacteria that protect the vaginal area from yeast. Hormonal imbalances and menstruation can also trigger yeast infections. Although most of the symptoms are tolerable, this kind of infection can be painful and uncomfortable for most women. The good news is that yeast infection can be treated with the right medication, and among the best known is fluconazole 150 mg.
