What are oven slides used for?

A oven slide is used to put cakes on in the oven so when you take out your cake or what ever you are cooking it will be easy to take out with out burning yourself because you can still burn yourself even though you have oven Mittens on or a tea towel on your hand. SO BE CAREFUL and don't burn yourself.

Yes, but if you do, be sure not to burn it. If you burn it it will bubble and smell funny, and have a chewy texture when you take it out of the oven.

How do you burn the house down in sims 2?

You have to delete any smoke detectors and either buy a cheap fireplace and leave it to burn, or the most effective way is to get your sim to bake something in the oven and then move something in front of the oven do your sim cant get to it to take out the food. The food will burn and the oven will catch fire. You can put really flammable objects in front of the oven, like plants or wooden chairs to spread the fire. The house itself doesn't burn; just the contents and possibly the Sims!

Why does your cake shrink after you take it out of the oven?

What insulates an oven?

Because the materials form which it is made do not conduct heat very well and because its construction includes a lot of padding which traps air in the glove. Air too is a poor conductor of heat. Because of this poor conduction of heat when you pick up something hot when wearing an oven glove it will take a long time for the heat of the object to get through to your hand and burn you. However, if the oven glove is wet, as water is a good conductor of heat, a wet glove will transmit the heat and you will get burnt.

Does a full oven take less energy to maintain temperature than an empty one?

No. Consant temperature maintenance depands on the heat energy leakage through the wall of the oven, and that is determined by the local temperatures just outside and inside the wall. What is in the middle of the oven away from the wall is immaterial. If the oven is full, it will take longer to cool down to room temperature than will an empty oven, but that is different from a constant temperature situation.

How to Clean and Electric Oven?

A lot of people don’t think about it, but their electric oven needs regular cleaning just like their other appliances. Ovens can get greasy and can have residue from cooking left over on the walls or on the floor of the device. The residue can burn, causing smoke to fill your oven, giving your food bitter tastes. Not only this, but it can fill your kitchen with smoke also. A dirty oven may also take longer to cook since the radiant energy cannot reflect off the walls of the cooking chamber efficiently. If you need to clean your electric oven you can follow the steps outlined below. If you are fortunate to own a modern, electric oven, cleaning is simple. Most electric ovens that were manufactured within the last 30 years have self cleaning modes. When an oven is set to self cleaning, the inside heats up higher than normal, baking off residue and burning grease. The process takes several hours, but once it is done, all you have to do is take a damp cloth and wipe out the dust. Before you set your oven to self cleaning mode, make sure that you remove everything from inside the oven including the racks. Next, follow the directions that are specific for your oven for self cleaning. If you have an older oven that does not have a self cleaning feature, you will need to clean it by hand. Begin by purchasing a commercial oven cleaner. When you get home, remove everything from the oven and make sure that your room is well ventilated. Oven cleaners are highly toxic and can easily overcome you with their fumes. Next, wear a mask and protective gloves. Spray the inside of your electric oven with the oven cleaner and allow it to sit for a while. This allows the solvent in the cleaner to break down the grease and grime that has accumulated. Next, wipe down all surfaces of the oven with a cloth. For serious stains and residue build up, you may have to apply more oven cleaner and scrub harder. Once you have cleaned the oven sufficiently. Finally, take a wet towel and wipe all the surfaces. Do this several times to remove all of the oven cleaner.
