the same water pump fits different applications. use the gasket that best fits your vehicle.
Are you sure it is the water pump gaskets. It could be leaking some somewhere else, like the lower intake gasket
Assuming you have replaced the water pump and you still have a coolant leak up front, I would suspect the lower intake manifold gaskets are the source of the leak. This is not uncommon, the replacement gaskets are of different design to prevent that from happening again.
If the cork gaskets are not damaged then the engine block may be cracked. Check to see that the cork gaskets are indeed in place and not damaged.
Bad radiator, gaskets, water pump, thermostat
Disconnect the battery. Drain the radiator. Remove the pump belt. Unbolt the pump, and replace the pump along with new gaskets.
Just the water pump gasket and a jug of antifreeze.
AnswerThe pump should run anywhere between $20-$30. I'm not sure how much the gaskets are.The gasket set consists of 3 gaskets and runs about $4.
1) drain the antifreeze out of the radiator. 2) pull the radiator hoses off of the water pump 3) unbold the water pump from the block 4) install the new one the same way you took it off Note: when putting it back together make sure to replace the gaskets between the block and water pump, and put Permitex #2 on both sides of the gaskets
Check the water pump drive shaft. If water is leaking from the hole beneath the drive, it's definitely a bad water pump seal and you can't repair them.
i had to have my gaskets replaced ... ive heard the 3100 are known for being made with plastics gaskets ... idk
