Buick makes a clunking sound from trans area when accelerating.
There are two types of speed sensors, ABS speed sensors (braking system) and vehicle speed sensors (transmission). The ABS speed sensor is located near the brake caliper to read speed and braking patterns to detect whether ABS brake pulsation is needed to prevent brake lock up. The vehicle speed sensor reads signals from the transmission to give an accurate measurement of vehicle speed to your speedometer and odometer.
When one is using a trailer on their car, an electric brake controller measures the car's braking speed and adjusts the electric braking power of the trailer to correspond. This helps avoid collision between trailer and car.
Try to reduce speed through engine braking. Try the parking brake. Aim for something cheap and soft,
First, you drive your vehicle at top speed on the road. Then, you step full brake. Next, you get out of the vehicle and take a measuring tape to measure the black trail left by your vehicle's tyres. the length you had measured is the braking distance.
The Electronic Brake assist System (EBS) is a very efficient aid in emergency braking situations when the driver wants the vehicle to stop as quickly as possible. In these situations, most drivers apply the brake fast, but not with the maximum pressure, and this insufficient braking power leads to dangerously long braking distances. The system is triggered when the brake assist recognizes the fast and hard braking by the driver classified as typical 'emergency braking' and activates the maximum braking power immediately. Therefore even moderate pedal force leads to maximum deceleration. This can help avoid an accident or reduce its seriousness, due to decreased vehicle speed at the moment of collision.
At low speed: Damaged or failed tire, bent wheel, damaged brake, damaged axle. Dangerous failure of a wheel bearing. At high speed generally a wheel balanace problem. While braking a bent or warped brake component.
Engine Brake: One way to reduce speed by shift down the gear from Higher to Lower (Eg. Driving with 120 km/h with 5th gear, by turning to Engine Brake it reduce to 4th gear that make the speed is reduced) It's very helpful when driving with high speed.
It is possible that a wheel speed sensor is bad. This will cause the anti lock braking to not read the wheel correctly which would be a brake problem that would cause a light.
Not sure what brake pedal slip is, please try again and explain. If you are referring to brake fade then the reason is that some brake pads are more susceptible to fade that others when they get hot. You may even experience the boiling of the brake fluid. In all cases it is caused by continual high speed braking. Brake fluid contaminated with moisture makes the condition even worse. Replace all your brake fluid with clean fresh fluid from an unopened container. Brake pads have a temperture at which they become ineffective. Replace your pads with high performance pads if you are doing some high speed braking. You may also need to change rotors to a racing type rotor.
If it varies with driving speed, look for an out-of-round tire. If it vibrates only when braking, you probably have a warped brake rotor.
There is something wrong with the braking system. If your brake system locks up at that speed, the results could be very , very serious. Have it checked as soon as possible.
