Well the answer to this question is simple, the reason for kings and queens are to protect the land that they own. in another way to put that they tried to stop wars but that didn't always happen but they did accomplish most of the battles or wars that they would face in their years of ruling.

The monarchs would be easily replaced by simply installing as head of state that has the same limitations as those that are upon the governor general of Australia this person could be either voted in or installed by the government as is the case at the present time. His only job would be to enforce constitutional matters and cut ribbons at official functions.
