You can't be notified unless you sign up
If you want to put a question on Watch, you need to join the site and supply an email address so that you can be notified by email when your question has been answered.
If you asked the question while you were logged in, you will be notified by e-mail that your question has been answered. When you ask a question, it is automatically placed in your watchlist. If you ask a question and it's already on Answers.com, but isn't answered, you can follow that question by clicking "Follow" in the blue column to the left of the question. Any question that you're following gets added to your watchlist, and you receive an e-mail about when it is answered or updated.
You are normally notified at your registered email address when something happens with your question. The notifications appear in your inbox whether you're signed in or not.
It shows who answered it.
when you post a question , you click onto "updates" then when some one answers it you will be notified in your email
You don't have to sign in to ask a question, but if you don't you can't receive updates when your question is answered.
You should be notified if box is left checked via your email.

If you are a member, you get an e-mail giving you the link to your question, which has been answered. If you are not a member, become one now! It's free!if you are a member the site will send you an email to tell you that your question has been answered
If you are a registered user with an e-mail address on file, an e-mail will be sent to you whenever there is a change to your question.
You can follow a question (if you're signed-in) and then you can get an email notification when your question is answered (check your email settings on the My Settings page).
