No, you will not lose any of your current badges if you join The Initiates Program. However, if you are promoted to Supervisor when you graduate, the TIP member badge is removed from your profile, since by graduating from the program you are no longer a TIP member. Also if you are a premier answerer, you will lose the premier answerer badge when you become a Supervisor, because due to technicalities you can only have either the premier answerer or supervisor badge.

When a supervisor finds a normal contributor who they think have qualified for the premier answerer badge the supervisor can recommend them via a link that only supervisors have. A supervisor will go through the user's contributions to make sure that they have had quality and well thought out contributions.
