If the fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) " trips " because the
vehicle has suffered a " jolt " because of a collision or maybe hitting a bad
pothole , then the button on the top of the switch needs to be manually
pushed down to reset the switch . If the button has popped up then no
power is going to the electric fuel pump . I BELIEVE the switch is in the
front passenger footwell , under the front edge of the carpet , mounted on
the toe board , just to the right of the transmission hump on your 1993 Ford
Ranger
There is a fuel shut off switch ( inetria switch ) that is very sensative to impacts or even hard braking. On the ford Ranger's this should be located behind the kick panel on the passenger's side floor toward's the door. There should be a reset button on top of it that you just push to reset. My company uses Ranger's for delivery vehicle's and I have seen cases were the switch will need to be reset just because the driver had to slam on the brake's or hit a pot hole.
hey, you will probly need to go to your ford dealer nearest you.
i think that means you need gas in your vehicle
Chevy did not use a reset button, Only ford used them. If you have no fuel pressure, then you need to check the fuel pump FUSE and RELAY.
Is the " FUEL RESET " light in your dash on If the button has not popped up on the top of the inertia switch than the switch doe's not need to be reset
check fuse for fuel pump or may need a new fuel pressure regulator, its on the fuel rail.
You need to get a quick disconnect tool from any parts house to remove the fuel lines.
Chevy does not use a reset switch. Only ford did.You need to check the fuel pump fuse and relay. You could just have a bad fuel pump.
I had the same problem with my 98 ranger you need a a special tool to remove the brackets that hold it in place It is not an easy task
In order to reset the fuel pump for a Ford E-150, you first need to locate the fuel pump shut-off switch. The fuel pump shut-off switch in a Ford E-150 should be located on the vanâ??s passenger side wall, right inside the door. Once you have found the switch, depress it. Once you press the button, the fuel pump should reset.
i need help with the temp.gage in a 1988 ford ranger
It does not have a reset switch. Ford is the only one that used it. You need to check the fuel pump relay or fuel pump fuse. May just have a bad fuel pump.
