Your heater uses somthing akin to a mini radiator to transfer heat from your engine to the cars interior. However, if you're smelling antifreeze, you have some type of leak.
Antifreeze is used to heat the cab of your vehicle. When you turn on your heat in your cab, it opens up a valve that allows the hot antifreeze to flow from the radiator into the heater core. If there is a leak in the rubber tubes that flow into the heater core, or if the heatercore is damaged, you will smell the antifreeze in the cab of the vehicle. You may need new hoses to the heater core and/or a new heater core.
If your going through coolant then you have an internal head gasket leak you smell coolant because its getting into cylinder and burning
you probably have a leaking heater core....you can replace it or bypass it
Typical of the heater core leaking. Overheat because of low fluid and pressure. Foggy windshield due to heater core leaking and will smell antifreeze in the car.
heater core leaking
you will smell antifreeze, you may or may not have heat, you could run out of anti freeze
Leaking heater core.Leaking heater core.
It's either stopped up (no heat) or leaking. If leaking you will smell antifreeze (sweet sickening smell) and it might fog up your windshield with the defroster on. Leaking alot, the carpet is wet. Keep an eye on the antifreeze level.
your vehicle may smell like antifreeze while driving because it is overheating
the heater core may be plugged up
if you can smell antifreeze you need to replace the heater core in the vehicle
