I don't think she did feel that way. When he died she was so upset she didn't go to the funeral but watched from an upstairs window at Mt. Vernon. She stayed in her rooms for quite awhile after that.
Why did Martha Washington die inI think a high fever.
Martha Dandridge Custis Washington I think ya right. -Nathanielteddy real name- Nathaniel Shipley
Martha Curtis is the wife of George Washington. She was called Patsy Washington because her father called her Patsy. Therefore, George Washington the first President called his wife Patsy not Martha Washington. So they were really George and Patsy Washington. (another answer) Martha Curtis is a great violinist who struggled with many social and physical restraints. George Washington's wife's name was Martha Custis. C-U-S-T-I-S
Yes. George Washington got married to a woman named Martha (I don't know her last name). So she was Mrs. Martha Washington Bella943 says, George Washington Married Martha Dandridge Custis in 1759
Martha did not play an active role in political affairs. I think she generally liked what George did and if she did not, she did not complain to anyone else but maybe George.
I can think of 2 Martha Washington on the silver certificate and Susan B Anthony..
geogre washingtons wife Its George and George Washington didn't have a wife, so the answer is Abigail Smith Adams Abigail Adams was the first lady to live in the White House, but George Washington DID have a wife. Her name was Martha Washington. But Martha and George couldn't have lived in the White House because it wasn't built yet. Even when Abigail moved in, it was unfinished. ( I think later, when Abigail was in her early 70's, the rest of the White House was built.)
As the first lady of the United States, Martha Washington believed that her role was to support her husband, President George Washington, both personally and publicly. She hosted social events and dinners at the White House and exchanged letters with individuals to help her husband in his political pursuits. She also focused on promoting the arts, education, and charitable causes during her time as first lady.

i think it was George Washington
I think the quality that was the most important was being able to lead, humbly. In addition, it helped that Washington was smart, and was a hard worker. He put the well-being of our country first, and was one of the only Presidents to truly work for the people.
