The delegates agreed about the separation of powers because they all wanted the United States to have a system of government different from that of Britain. They did not want power concentrated on any one entity.
They agreed in the separation of power because meany feared that if they gave the government too much power the states would be treated unfairly (because they were treated badly under Britain which is a central government.). So they decided on splitting the power between the states and the government.
