An abdominal x-ray would expose the woman's abdomin to potentially harmful rays which is why the x-ray tech typically will ALWAYS ask females if they are pregnant or could possibly be pregnant before performing any type of x-ray on a woman.
A pregnant woman should always inform any healthcare provider that she is pregnant as so many drugs and medical procedures are counterindicated for those that are pregnant.
