Shifting cultivation is the type of cultivation in which the farmers cut trees and clear the land for cultivation. They also burn the uprooted trees and mix their ashes in the soil so as to fertile the soil. After cultivation and harvesting they move on to other land and repeat the same process. As nomads they move from place to place for agriculture and for survival. But in this process, there are also chances of hazards like forest fires, and loss of fertility. If it is practiced in many parts of society, it is due to the fact that nomadic societies still exist and they follow the same traditional method of farming.
Hope this helps... (please give your suggestions...)..... :)
Shifting cultivation is still practiced in many parts of the world due to its adaptability to challenging environments and ability to provide a sustainable livelihood for communities. It allows for crop diversity and natural regeneration of land while meeting the basic needs of rural populations. However, the practice can lead to deforestation, soil degradation, and loss of biodiversity if not managed sustainably.
"Rain follows the plow" was a concept popular in the 19th century advocating that settlement and cultivation of land in the American West would increase rainfall. However, this idea has been discredited by modern science, as it is not supported by evidence that human activity can significantly alter weather patterns.
The idea that all continents were once part of one big landmass is known as continental drift. This theory suggests that over millions of years, the continents have moved apart due to the shifting of tectonic plates beneath the Earth's surface.

Droughts can happen anywhere in the world, but they are more common in arid and semiarid regions with low rainfall and high temperatures. Climate change is also making droughts more frequent and severe in many areas.

Shifting cultivation is when the physical and human environment work together. This is especially useful when the mass majority of the population are farmers. By shifting cultivation, this would help the used land for farming rejuvenate and get back the nutrients it has lost. Though this takes a long time, it still helps to recycle land and save resources. The most destructive cyclones are tropical cyclones, which in various parts of the world are called hurricanes and typhoons. Extratropical cyclones can also be destructive by producing strong winds and flooding. Both can produce severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Note that while tornadoes are destructive they technically are not cyclones even though they are often referred to as such.
