Why do you think that Nigeria has not developed in the area of science and technology?

∙ 12y agoI feel the political and ethinic unrest (for 19 years) are the prime reasons that Nigeria could not concentrate on Science and Technology.
Since, 1990 upto 2007 there is conflict between ethinic groups and foreign oil exploration companies as ethinic groups feel that they are being exploited. To control the invaluable oil wealth their remains ethinic as well as political unrest in Niger delta. There are innumerable count of regional and ethinic groups those have their own militia.
In 2008 massive crackdown had taken place on militants by Govt. though they were granted amnesty in the year 2009.
For the future they will need to build schools that teach in the areas of science and technology. Colleges or technical schools and the ability to use their resources remains a key to overcome all setbacks.

I think it's not developed because goggle says that most countries in Africa a poorest so I think it's not developed but at the same time goggle says that it's one of the developed country's in the world.... I'm not sure but I would have to say it's a developing country and not a developed country. Also I don't know...but I had to use the GNP to find out so.... Nigeria has a low GNP so I think it's a developing country and not a developed country.
