Why do you think the british were able to prevent the Germans from invading their country?

The reason that Germany did not invade England during World War II is that Hitler could not decide upon an invasion plan. Although he was a brilliant strategist in land campaigns, he could not come up with an invasion plan that he felt comfortable with. The German military was quite capable of taking over England in 1940 right after the fall of Dunkirk, but Hitler would not give the go ahead. Instead, he agreed to let Goering try to bomb England into submission.
