Because almost all year we have perfect weather for a barbecue, sunshine and blue skies. We celebrate a lot of holidays and events with barbecued foods. I guess it's just our thing, we have a lot of barbecues!!
It most likely has to do with the fact that Australia has a warm climate and a beach/ outdoorsy culture. Many warm-climate cultures prefer to cook outside simply because its pleasant weather. BBQing is also a communal activity- and Aussies are known for being friendly and social. And- it's easy to be social while cooking if you're cooking on the barbie!
That is a matter of choice, not everyone does and for those who do, its kind of a tradition. It might have something to do with Australia's weather being so good for having barbecues.

You can use a barbecue clear spray but it make have chemical in it. The best way to clean it is by a barbecue brush and you hand to clean it.
