Since Christ has risen on the first day of the week after Passover - that is Sunday, every Sunday we celebrate Christ's victory over death.

ANOTHER ANSWER:

"Sunday" [the "first day" of God's divinely-inspired weekly cycle, beginning on the seventh day of creation] is NOT, and NEVER HAS BEEN, COMMANDED by God as His WEEKLY Sabbath day in the Bible [except for the annual day of PENTECOST; which is determined each year by "counting out SEVEN SABBATHS {Saturdays} from the Sabbath day that falls during the time of the Passover - see Lev.23:15-16].

God never abrogated His Ten Commandments, of which His seventh-day Sabbath commandment is one. Therefore His commandment still stands.

Also, the commandment doesn't say to WORSHIP God on the Sabbath day... it commands mankind to REST every Sabbath week day [and WORK the other SIX days]! Of course, complying with God's Commandments constitutes OBEDIENCE to them, thus being a form of "worship" in itself. But, most people never really study God's Laws to know what they really say. Human nature is too selfish and busy rebelling against any kind of authority [man's or God's laws] to care.

God's weekly Sabbath day is a REMEMBRANCE OF THE SEVEN DAYS OF CREATION! A weekly remembrance of our Creator... and a remembrance that WE ARE CREATED by Him -- not evolved. You know, that monumental universal event that mankind has FORGOTTEN... since so few men obey God's Laws. Therefore this Satan-led and guided world preaches the "religion of evolution" [creation WITHOUT a Creator], that demands a "belief" in infinitely more "miracles" than The Bible ever did or does.

God's weekly Sabbath is HIS SIGN... His MARK... that IDENTIFIES WHO HIS PEOPLE [who His servants, who His Children] truly ARE! [see Ex.31:13 & 17]

False "Christianity's" observance of "Sunday" IS DONE WITHOUT GOD'S COMMAND... based on the carnal minded reasoning of Satan-led mankind.

"Because the CARNAL MIND is ENMITY [hostile] AGAINST GOD: for it is not subject TO THE LAW OF GOD, neither indeed CAN BE." (Rom.8:7)

The whole world is deceived by the god it worships [see Rev.12:9]... and worships Satan; observing his false and counterfeit "sabbaths," customs and traditions. And just as God's MARK [His Sabbaths] "identify" who His people are... so does Satan's MARK [his counterfeit "holidays" {holy days}] - like "SUNDAY." A day NOT condoned nor commanded by God in His Word.

"Howbeit IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, teaching for doctrines THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN. For LAYING ASIDE THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, ye HOLD THE TRADITION OF MEN... Full well YE REJECT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, THAT YE MAY KEEP YOUR OWN TRADITION." (Mark 7:7-9)

Many deceived people, today, are looking for a "computer chip" or some modern contrivance to identify the "Mark of the Beast"... but the Mark of the Beast is "revealed" in God's Divinely-inspired Word as the OPPOSITE of what God says "identifies" to the world who His people are. And that MARK of the Beast is as ancient as any pagan, false day of "remembrance" that deceived men care to create in lieu of God's "identifying mark." The Mark of the Beast is as ancient as "sun worship" itself.

Jesus commands His servants to REMEMBER HIS PASSOVER DEATH [see Luke 22:19! Not His resurrection [which wasn't on "Sunday" the "first day of the week," anyway; but He rose from the dead on the evening before near sundown on the previous SABBATH DAY {our Saturday}. The women, arriving at the tomb on the "first day of the week" were told that He was ALREADY RISEN -- PAST TENSE!]. God commands the Passover Holy Day to be observed in His Word [read Lev.23]. Not "Easter!"

Modern false "Christianity" is even confused and deceived regarding the events surrounding Jesus' death. So, "Sunday" observance wasn't too far behind in the embellishment of the deception.

I don't "worship" God on Saturday... I REST according to the Commandment! I "worship" Him every day of the week... beginning with the first day of the week, the day we call Sunday, today; which is a WORK DAY. If God had rested on the first day, no creation would have occurred... and we wouldn't exist.

Constantine was a king who wanted more of his citizens to convert to Christianity so he watered down many teachings so that they would make pagans feel more inclined to convert . his idea was to chang the day of worship from the original sabbath day to the Sunday or day of sun which was the pagans day to sacrifice and worship; and allow all of their pagan holidays.

The Adventist movement realized that Saturday was the seventh day, the day that God made holy and set aside for all of his children.

Jehovah's Witnesses worship God on every day of the week and not just Saturday. The fact is, we do not have a particular day we consider a sabbath. The sabbath was provision of the old Law covenant on the Nation of Israel, which by the way, was on Saturday. We believe that, as Christians, we are not under the old Law covenant, with it's sabbath provision, but we are under the "law of the Christ." (Galatians 6:2) So, if in your area, the Witnesses have meetings on Saturdays, it is not because we have a particular religious attachment to that day.

In many countries, Jehovah's Witnesses are one of the fastest growing religions. The worldwide organization of Jehovah's Witnesses has more than doubled in the past 20 years. Therefore, we are in constant need to build new Halls to keep up with the growth. In many Kingdom Halls, several congregations share the same building. So the same programs are being repeated several times, each to a different group of people during the week or weekend.

For logistical reasons in Kingdom Halls where there may be 4 congregations meeting, we have one of those congregations meeting at 10AM on Saturday mornings, then on Sunday, another congregation meets at 10AM, a third meets at 12:30PM, and another group meets at 3:30PM. So, we have four different groups meeting at different times during Saturday and Sunday.

Some KH's have even 6 or more congregations using the same building, often with multiple language groups. That explains why you may see a congregation in your area meet on Saturday mornings.

Another aspect of our worship is our door to door ministry.

You may also see some of us meeting at the KH to gather into groups and go out into that service work. So, you may at times see cars at the KH, and it may be due to our door to door ministry, and not for a congregation meeting.

Saturday has become a very important day for this, NOT because we have a religious attachment to that day, but because that is the day we generally find people at home. Also, most JW's support themselves in some secular work, therefore Saturdays and Sundays are the days that many JW's, have off from their jobs, and can go out in the ministry.

Gen:2:3: And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Ex:20:

8: Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9: Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Mt:5:18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Lk:4:16: And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Acts:13:42: And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Acts:17:2: And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Acts:18:4: And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Rv:14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Saturday is the seventh day.

Because Ex 20:8, Deuteronomy 5:8, Mark 2 verses 27-28, Hebrews 4 verses 9-12 and many more chapters both old and new testiment teaches us which day to keep as as the Sabbath. Note Seventh Day Adventist worship every day but Saturday as the bible states that it is a day of rest from the every day of life.

It is not about just going to church but note it is a HOLY DAY.

The standard calendar for centuries has placed Saturday at the end of the week. What is different about adventists is that they celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday and make it holy.

Why do you worship on Sunday?

Although Saturday is the 'holy' day of the jews, in the early Church the first Jewish Christians began to worship on Sundays instead of the seventh day of the week (Saturday - the 'Sabbath') because it was on a Sunday that Jesus rose from death. This was considered such an important day that Sundays were chosen instead as a day of worship - a tradition that carries on to this day.

When do you think everyone will have to worship on Sunday?

Sunday worship will never be for everyone. We know that for Jews the Sabbath can only be on Saturday. Muslims must perform their main worship on Fridays. Similarly, we can not expect Buddhists or Daoists to have a special worship day on Sundays, although the fact that Sundays are usually work-free days at least makes Sunday worship convenient. Atheists do not worship, so they would be exempt from any requirement to worship on Sundays. If we can not require non-Christians to worship on Sundays, why should we expect Christians, for whom Saturdays are the day of worship, to worship on Sundays?

Who changed the Sabbath day?

It is important to note that the sabbath day was never "changed". Christian Churches still recognise Saturday as the sabbath, they just choose not to worship on that day preferring Sunday instead because it was the day Jesus rose from the dead.
