Numbness of the teeth can be brought on by clenching your teeth or grinding as you sleep (see your dentist) or sinus infections (clogged sinuses as well) or facial nerve damage possibly by an accident. It is best to see your doctor about this and if they find nothing then please see your dentist. If you do grind your teeth you'll probably have to wear a "bruxing guard" for awhile. Please do, because if you don't you could end up with aching teeth (not caused by cavaties) or TMJ (of the jaw) mainly in women.
Some of the causes of jaw tingling/numbness is:
Diabetes mellitus.
Tooth ache.
Hypocalcemia.
Spinal cord lesion.
Nerve root compression.
Herpes zoster.
Entrapment neuropathy.
Partial seizure.

Your front teeth might feel numb if you just got an injection from the dentist. They may also feel numb if you hit your head and have nerve damage.

You're probably still numb from the novacaine (or whatever they used to numb you) but if it doesn't regain feeling within a day or two, it's possible that part of your mandibular nerve is damaged. It could have been damaged if the tooth was not properly pulled out.
