Often times when computers freeze it is because a lack of hard drive space, not enough RAM, software updates are needed, or you may need to run anti-virus software. If none of these are your problem, I would contact Gateway Technical Support.

Get on gateway
The engine computer has lost communication with the gateway computer. The gateway computer is the "operator" that controls all communication between the computers on the vehicle.
Try plugging it into the computer, or hold the button the front till it shuts off that should work.!!. ;))
The first computer was invented in Germany in 1936 to 1938. The first Gateway computer was invented in 1991, which is when the company got their start.
Gateway designs their own laptops and manufactures. Although take into account that they do outsource some of their manufacturing work to other computer manufactuers.
Click on start>Run>CMD, then type "ipconfig". This command will show you the default gateway on the computer. -Nitin
