I have a 2002 Intrepid, but all the electrical system is the same. I left the windows open for a brief time while it was raining. Once I found this out, I noticed later that the lights would come on by themselves with no turning of the light switch. If you have had this happen, moisture inside the car could be the cause of the problem. Take out all the floor mats, especially if they have or had water under them. Roll all the windows down and leave the car out in the sun until it dries out. If possible, get dessicant bags (moisture absorbant bags)and leave inside the car for awhile. Leaving the car out in the sun worked for me, as I have not had the problem since.
