depending on the make and model of your vehicle, some manufacturers use a metal clip that sits in the brake bad seat so that when the pad wears down, the clip wil scrape against the rotor (with that screatch we all love so much!) indicating it's time to replace the pads. the clip is independent from the pad and sometimes when you install the new pads, that clip doesnt sit in the correct spot and scrapes the rotor. sorry to say, but you have to take \everything apart again and check the possitioning of all the parts.

Why do your brakes make a clicking noise when you slow down?

The brakes may make a clicking noise if the caliper is going bad. I just changed the brakes and the rotors and discovered my car was making a clicking noise. The garage I took it to replaced the caliper, so now it doesn't make the noise anymore.

Why do front brakes make a grinding noise after you put new pads on?

Did you have the rotors turned or replaced? If the rotor surface was not resurfaced it can often cause noise, premature wear and uneven stopping.

What would cause a loud grinding noise when brakes are applied even after brakes parts has been replaced?

It is a cause and effect thing. Was the other axle inspected if all the brakes, front and rear, were not replaced? Can you tell where it's coming from at all? Is the noise identical from when before the brakes were replaced? Year, make, model and mileage would help as well. Drum on rear? Don't assume the brakes were done correctly. Believe it or not, I have done a few where someone put the pads in backwards with the backing plate against the rotor. If someone worked on it for you, take it back to them and complain.
