Two things: check, clean and/or replace dirty/loose/corroded battery cables. DON'T JUST LOOK AT THEM AND THINK THEY LOOK OK ;remove them and if suspect, put new ones on; sandpaper the areas that they attach to. Next, many cars have fusible links which deliver power to the starter. A fusible link is a special wire that is designed to blow out in the event of a battery short or if someone puts the cables on backwards. They are generally marked 'fuse link' . NINE times out of TEN problems like yours are due to poor battery cables/connections/grounds.
triple diodes in alternator are bad
It is a good quality battery. I have one installed in my Toyota that is 5 years old.
battery tests good, alternator tests good, new voltage regulator installed and still no charge to battery from altanator .
Yes they can be installed in any car or truck that has a good battery.
The 'cheapest' battery is NEVER a good idea !
my battery is good but having problems with starting
The battery is not making good contact or has been installed in reverse. Remove the battery and clean ther terminals with a pencil eraser. Reinstall the battery making sure you install it correctly.
take the battery terminals off and clean them and the battery mountings on the battery real good and reinstall.
It is located below and almost behind your air conditioning pump. get a flashlight and give it a good look, you'll find it. This is if your Caprice has a 5.0L engine.
Is your battery dead ? or a bad battery cable connection ?
A cheap battery will work good with the vehicle being stock. No more is really needed for this model. If you want a good battery for it however, an Optima red top will be the best you can get for the need. The Optima yellow top is a good option for an upgraded stereo or subs installed.
Have you recently installed a radio? I had one "professionally installed" and found out after two batteries they wired it wrong. The amp was constantly drawing power off the battery because of the wiring of the new radio. Also, if you have an automatic car starter (remote start), make sure the starting switch path is true, not open.
