She doesn't. I listened to various version and none is strangely pronounced.
Edith Piaf's pronunciation of "Je" as "Re" in the song 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien' could be due to her distinctive Parisian accent or personal style. It is considered a vocal quirk that adds character to her performance and sets it apart from standard pronunciation.

Night club singer, cabaret artist and recording artist- a singer. She was not, strictly speaking, an actress like Judy Garland.
my friend's named Edith but she really disliked it so now we just call her Eddie. like E-D (pronounce the letters)
She traditionally worn a black dress as she thought it would look more like a sparrow since her nickname was 'the little sparrow'.
The movie that illustrated the life of Edith Piaf is called La vie en rose. This film came out in 2007 and was directed by Olivier Dahan and starred the actress Marion Cotillard who played Piaf. Edith Piaf was the most famous French singer who was born in Paris in 1915. She had a very tough life filled to the brim with obstacles such as being blind from ages three to seven, the love of her life and her child dying, addictions to alcohol and morphine and lastly a death brought on by liver cancer. Despite these conflicts in her life she grew up to change the history of music in France. She soon became known worldwide for many of her songs which include La vie en rose, hymne à l'amour, Les trois cloches, Non, je ne regrette rien, et Sous le ciel de Paris. Her songs reflect the difficulties in her life, but also optimism. The biographical film which describes her life did so with great accuracy. The actress Marion Cotillard did an amazing job of playing Edith. Not only does she look and act like her in the film, but she does all of the singing herself, and the two share the same quality of voice. All in all, La vie en rose, was a great film with an outstanding demonstration of the life of Frances most influencing singer.
I've been looking for that song too! But it turns out it's from a degree commercial and the song is "In the Mood for l'Amour" by Claire Denamur The information as stated above is incorrect. These are, in fact, two very distinct and separate commercials. The ad in question actually IS for DOVE, and NOT for DEGREE. The song is "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" circa 1960 and recorded by Edith Piaf. The title translates to "No, I Regret Nothing." An English version is titled, "No Regrets."
Piaf was short, like "Napoleon short", rose from neglected beginnings and found great success. She conquered far many more countries than Napoleo. and she never had to contend with Elba OR St. Helens Island.
I am not aware of any song by this groupe specifically for Ms. Piaf. It may be argued that (Walking inthe Rain) would fill the bill. This song is about the siege or rather attack on Paris in world war I using the Big Bertha cannons. (l05s substitute in the Spector recording) the song also uses the French phrase Sacre Bleu (Blue Rite) no precise Us equivalent. Ther are no other close approaches I coulkd not imagne Piaf performing Be My Baby or other Ronettes standards!
Love was what kept her going. She would often have torturous and amorous relationships, but would sink into depression when they ended. Often when she found a new lover, she would be like a teenager during their first love. She was a very romantic singer and wove in her pain with the music.
Well, Edith campaigned against FDR in 1932. She disliked Eleanor and did not want her to be first lady. So, I would say no, she did not like Edith.
