He goes blind as he tried to kill the monster using all his energy, but it only makes it disappear, leaving him blind. It did say when America asked him if he would be blind forever, England said that his sight was taken for the fact that his magic wasnt enough.
But what I dont get, is when he did go blind. I figured he was blind at the end, but I did some reading and this is what came up: "at some point he tries to use all his magic to try and ultimately kill the monster, wich only stuns it, leaving him blind and FAINTS." the only time England faints is when Italy is about to sacrafice himself to save them all, but America saves him just in time.
